Vic Hill finishes 12th in Volunteer 50 prelim at Bulls Gap
Vic Hill returned to the driver’s seat of his Estes Bros Construction No. 1 Late Model over the weekend as Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) was celebrating 50 years of racing at the 4/10-mile oval with the Volunteer 50.
With the 42-car field separated into two groups for prelims on Friday, Vic turned in the 14th-fastest qualifying effort in his group before moving forward in his preliminary feature. With a $5,000 payday up for grabs, Hill muscled to a 12th-place finish.
Rolling off on the second row of his B-Main on Saturday, Hill advanced into the $50,050-to-win Volunteer 50 with a third-place finish. Starting in 22nd, Vic passed seven cars in the 50-lap affair to record a 15th-place outing.
